This activity will be completed after the students read the myth Heracles for homework. This activity will assess the understanding of the myth. Students will create a flip book using the website Pageflip-flap. Students will be responsible for summarizing the text and finding relevant images. The procedure for the activity is below.
Directions:
- Assign the reading of the myth the night before the activity begins. Note: This myth is a more modified version to meet the needs of my current classes.
- The instructor will demonstrate pageflip-flap.
- Upon entering class, the students will get into groups to discuss the basics of the myth.
- Students will create a Google Doc that they will upload to create the flip book.
- They are to add text and images to the Doc
- Text and images will create an engaging flip book
- The flip book must include:
- parents, wife, and children
- reason he had to complete the labors
- summary of all twelve labors
- explanation of why two labors did not count
- the resolution of the myth
- lessons to be learned from the myth
