I Am Poem
I am caring and compassionate.
I wonder how long I can keep teaching at this pace.
I hear the laughter of my children filling the house.
I see the way I want life to be.
I want life to slow down a bit as it appears to go faster with each passing year.
I am caring and compassionate.
I pretend like I know what I am doing.
I feel like a hamster on a wheel.
I touch the lives of those around me.
I worry that I am going to let someone down.
I cry when I am frustrated with the system.
I am caring and compassionate.
I understand that I cannot be perfect despite my numerous efforts.
I say when it is time to move.
I dream that my daughters will stop apologizing for things they need not apologize.
I try to raise two strong, independent, caring girls.
I hope that my children will be happy.

I hope that my children will be happy.
I am caring and compassionate.
